When installing vinyl siding on your home, it’s important to use proper j-blocks when putting the outside lights back up. Not only does this give a clean finished look, but it also insures water does not leak in through the light junction box area – which could cause multiple problems.
As we’ve discussed in the past, you can get the highest quality siding materials for your home, but if it’s not installed meticulously, you’re going to experience problems down the road – and you lose the benefit of having a “maintenance free” vinyl exterior.

Creative Home Improvement has been installing Vinyl Siding all over Fairfield County for nearly 40 years. Today we’re talking with Andy about how they handle siding around outdoor lights
On every vinyl siding project we install j blocks, which go behind your lights. The key to that is – it’s a beautiful finished look – when we’re done the vinyl siding fits into the built in j channel on the j block and then your light gets attached on top of the j block. Of course, these lights are a little old – so when it comes time to do your project, if you buy brand new lights, we’ll put those up at no additional charge.
On this job we used Cedar impressions from Certainteed – giving you the real wood shingle look without the maintenance. We work in many area towns including Trumbull, Stratford, Easton and more. To request a quote, call us at (203) 929-5737 or visit CreativeHomeImprovementLLC.com
